The New Yorker already plumbed the depths of trashy pop culture by reviewing hit CW show Gossip Girl last fall. (The mag loves them some Gossip Girl so much that they even published a glowing review of the novels the series is based on earlier this month.) Coming soon in the pages of the august publication: a breakdown of MTV’s faker-than-ever reality show, The Hills.
Nancy Franklin, the critic who managed to incorporate the phrase “BFF” into her review of the Gossip Girl TV show, is on The Hills detail. Let’s hope she does a better job of intellectualizing the trials and tribulations of Spencer, Heidi, and Lauren than the New York Times did.
