The Monte Carlo Hotel in Las Vegas is currently engulfed in flames and almost fully evacuated of guests and employees. As yet, there are no reported injuries. Neighboring hotels New York, New York and the Bellagio have been cleared as well, and there’s been a complete shutdown of the fabled Strip from Tropicana to Flamingo. Firefighters are on the scene spraying water on the inferno, but how does one really fight a fire started by the wrath of God? Expect evacuated Monte Carlo guests, many of whom are in town to attend the baton-twirling, “modern”-dancing horror spectacle that is the Miss American pageant, to be re-located to a hotel of equal quality somewhere near Henderson shortly.
