< BACK TO Fresh Intelligence Sarah Palin Did Not Sell That Jet On EBay
Of course, Palin never mentioned that though she did list the jet on eBay, she didn't sell it on eBay. After going unsold for months, the jet was put into the hands of Turbo North Aviation, an Anchorage aircraft broker, which put an asking price of $2.45 million on the nearly $2.7 million jet. It quickly sold to Alaska businessman Larry Reynolds for $2.1 million ($31,000 of which went to Turbo Aviation). Today the Westwind II jet spends its days ushering wealthy hunters around Alaska and Russia. Just another glaring example of the LIES she blantently purportrated last night (with a straight face i might add) during that snarky speech, which BTW was largely written before she was even selected as McSame's running mate. Jenny Posted by: JennyDeMilo on September 4, 2008 2:49 PM Ooh, I see what you did up there with "McSame." Very clever! Posted by: Snakefinger on September 4, 2008 3:36 PM I do not get a good feeling about this woman and indeed a lot of things she has said have been lies, but this does not appear to be one of them. She said she put it on ebay and she did. That's no lie. If she'd said she SOLD it on ebay it would have been a lie. There is plenty of ridiculous and blatant lies and shady ambiguities she has come up with, why not focus on those and the valid points instead of this? Fishing for scandal where there is none? Posted by: ALB on September 4, 2008 3:57 PM Oh, it is OK to haul the fat ass of yo home boy gore around tellin you people inconvenient 'truths' but not wealthy hunter folk the dems are all about 'truth' like the below the belt 'impartial commentary' on communist new network blah, blah, blah...not listening and don't need to, you idiots! Posted by: tgimacb on September 4, 2008 10:38 PM Advertisement Just one question.....who owns this rag???????? Posted by: JustSaying on September 5, 2008 4:36 PM So what. The jet was sold. Posted by: jc1 on September 5, 2008 6:50 PM McCain said in a stump speech today "she sold it on ebay and she made a profit". She didn't sell it on eBay and she took a loss on it when she did sell it thru a broker. McCain is just in love with promoting eBay.....he needs to stop lying. Posted by: chandler151 on September 5, 2008 8:40 PM why isn't anyone asking what happened to the roughly 2 million she made on that deal? yes, she clearly is misleading the public on the words "I put it on Ebay". nobody puts anything on ebay unless they hope to sell it. so clearly she is omitting a part of the details that would make that story a clunker on the stump. But really...what happened to the 2 mil.? Posted by: twistedkrista on September 5, 2008 8:48 PM What happened to the 2 mil?!? That's a no-brainer. The money went back to the State of Alaska as per the Department of Public Safety that actually owned/sold the plane. Trying to fish for scandal when there is none, eh? Better luck next time!! Posted by: Terry136 on September 5, 2008 8:58 PM What happened to the 2 mil?!? That's a no-brainer. She listed it on ebay, and she said she put it on ebay. She did NOT say she sold it on ebay. Where's the beef?? Posted by: Terry136 on September 5, 2008 9:04 PM She stated that she "sold it on ebay" and McCain followed up today in a speech and exclaimed "she sold it on ebay, and even made a profit!" MSNBC reported the story this evening that she in fact listed it on ebay, but it failed to sell and then she sold it to an acquaintance. Posted by: rob on September 5, 2008 10:18 PM Snakefinger is not being totally honest here. Palin never said she "SOLD" the jet on eBay. Here exact words were, as follows: "I came to office promising major ethics reform to end the culture of self-dealing, and today that ethics reform is the law. While I was at it, I got rid of a few things in the Governor's Office that I didn't believe our citizens should have to pay for. That luxury jet was over the top. I put it on eBay," she said. She said she "PUT" the jet on eBay. She made a symbolic political statement by putting it on eBay. Eventually it sold. Posted by: Bob Williams on September 8, 2008 4:43 PM |
