Jeff Conaway Trades Pills for Scientology

Viewers who watched Jeff Conaway's bitch-and-hobble routine on Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew saw how the good doctor transformed him from a howling mad trainwreck to someone with a least a bit of hope.

So why the hell is Conaway on Inside Edition tonight crediting not Dr. Drew Pinsky but his leather-clad Greaser buddy John Travolta and Scientology for his sobriety?

"John and I stayed friends but he couldn't watch me going down the tubes ... he gave me a whole library of Scientology books and he's given me an auditor who comes almost every day." A babysitter! Top that, Dr. Drew! (We assume the main task of the auditor—a Scientology term for a spiritual advisor—is to keep Jeff's main enabler Vicki occupied so she doesn't feed Jeff handfuls of Norco.)

Or maybe Travolta's dangling a role in Battlefield Earth 2. "I'm going to be strong and healthy and totally together," Conaway tells Inside Edition tonight. "I've got to get ready for my Academy Award."

*Gasp* could it be, could it really be that the Scientologists have been telling us the truth all of these years? Could it really be that people find it helpful?

Is Jeff Conaway "people"?

Terryeo is one those scientology "plants" disguised as an ordinary Radar reader. Her name has appeared before when there's been any article containing even mild criticism of Scientology. In fact that's the only time the name appears. There's another Scientology hack that responded to a later blog farther up the column. Probably the same person.
It's as if the "church" has a PR department that tasks it's people with Googling the internet, scanning for articles so they can counter any negative comments with the opinions of random "ordinary" folks. Sad.

If Conaway was helped by Scientology, then good for him. But it doesn't make up for the lives ruined, families torn apart, and the numerous crimes. If The Church of Scientology wants to be accepted as a regular religious institution, why doesn't it just act like one?

That's funny because on KROQ's Kevin & Bean's Wednesday March 6 Podcast, Dr. Drew Pinsky said that Conaway was getting visit's from' some sort of scientology practitioner' but the care he received for his addition was not from twhatever thaat person did while visiting; that Conaway was still undergoing therapy and still on opiates as he was not thoroughly weaned off his addiction to pain killers during that time. Scientology opposes ANY medication use during it's programs, including it's pseudodetoxification frontgroup Narconon.
You can hear Dr Drew state this and more right here, starting at 20 mins into the show ( 23:00 about Conaway & scientology):
