New SNL Revue May Answer Nation's Pressing "Melanie Hutsell: Where Is She Now?" Questions

  • In the clearest sign yet that Lorne Michaels knows exactly who the audience is for his creaky sketch comedy relic, New York Daily News gossips Rush & Molloy report that the Saturday Night Live producer "is in talks with a major Vegas casino to create a live SNL revue. We hear the casino hopes to lure boomers with nightly shows in which Martin Short, Jon Lovitz, Julia Sweeney, and other alumni would do classic sketches and new material. Top SNL vets like Adam Sandler, Chris Rock and Steve Martin might do star turns a couple of times a year. Jack Sullivan, CEO of Lorne's Broadway Video, tells us, 'We're still in the early stage of talking.'" Seeing as boomers are the only folks alive to remember when the show was actually funny, this seems like a can't miss proposition.
