Funny thing is I've never been a conspiracy theorist in my entire life. Not grassy knolls, or 911 conspiracies, UFO stories or anything. I had actually bought the original sham back in May/June because after Ted's misleading email came out, what else was there to say? But the rumors of Ms Lyders NOT being the girl on the beach popped up almost immediately and puzzled me. I started to look at all the photos of Caroline I could find back in July and compare them to the beach girl and yes, she did look kind of similar but also quite different. When Caroline started to make public appearances at the July NYC book signing for example, and photos showed how SHORT she was in comparison to Taylor and how different she looked from the TALL and sexy beach girl, that's when I had the revelation that there were two different women involved and my idol Taylor Hicks (for whatever his reasons) had pulled this elaborate bait-and-switch on his fans, family, and friends. That Taylor did this sham isn't a question - he did it and those closest to him know that he did it - and here comes the fallout/karma/judgment.

Just as the talk on various blogs hit a fever pitch about whether Taylor was gay or not due to his constant companion Bill forever at his side, the Carolyn Landers story broke. IMO it was all just PR to keep Taylors true sexual orientation a secret.

The pathetic attempts by her to ride HIS coattails and HIS reputation to another job seem to have failed. Taylor himself got fed up with the charade in December, and has supposedly chucked it. He seems to be turning over a new leaf and putting his energies back into his flagging music career instead of continuing the sham - and good for him. The chances of seeing Taylor and the newscaster together in another PR-related sighting are said to be poor, and her regular (and supportive) boyfriend through this, Aaron Ruffcorn also seems fed up with the sham. He thought he would get some free publicity out of the sham for 'music career' but that just didn't happen for him.

Hicks refused to confirm or deny the rumors. Sounds guilty to me.

Ted Cognata pushed the theory that Caroline was at the Pala Casino show in San Diego but this proved impossible because she was live on-air early morning in Milwaukee that day and the next. The tall lady of the Maui beach photos was seen there by fans and they blogged about the sighting back in September. This lady was also seen by fans at the Kansas City casino shows in late April, again when Caroline had been proved to be live on-air early that day and next. Ted has been pushing the fake girlfriend sham since Day 1, but often bungling it. Was he really trying to be helpful to Taylor??

Sorry. These are the worst of the Taylor Hicks fanatics invading here. They have no logic or reasoning, but just attack because they feel they have to. There was an element of Claymates who did the same thing for Clay Aiken and gave all Clay fans a bad name.

Here's some reasoning for you - accept it or not. The accusations about the beach girl not being the 'respectable newscaster' popped up immediately after the beach photos were published, back at the end of May. The site (makingfunofyourasses linked in the article) accusing Hicks of pretending that the similar-looking but much shorter & petite newscaster was the beach girl popped up in September. These accusations have destroyed the newscaster's tv career because newscasters are 'supposed' to be honest. Your reputed Radar magazine, which is tracked by mainstream media, puts out two articles about this. And all through this, Hicks denied nothing. It's easy to say he rose above 'crazy' accusations, but when the same accusations are in the mainstream media and affects his reputation, his career, her reputation and her career, and he says nothing, that actually says a lot. He could have stopped the accusations in their tracks back in September if the accusations had been so crazy and ridiculous but he never did - even after his 'supposed' girlfriend's reputation has been so trashed. It's always been 'neither confirm or deny' from him. Ask yourself why that is.

It's funny how his fans hold on to the last shreds of hope. You do realize that Taylor's touring opportunities will most likely be regional down South, don't you? Unless he gets a hit song or critical acclaim, he will not be touring Nationwide. Poor fans, they are so clueless.

A tipster confirmed to RADAR that they saw a woman that looked like Caroline in the casino on May 7.

RADAR has confirmed Caroline Lyders was was ON AIR that morning, therefore making it impossible for her to be in Pala, Ca.

So that means there was another woman that looked like Caroline.

So what more proof does anyone need? The news anchor is not the woman in the photos. In every rumor there tends to be a seed of truth. Taylor Hicks nor Lyders have shut down any of these sites blasting them, and when given the opportunity Hicks didn't deny it.

Even if this thing seems strange, it doesn't matter. People do strange things. But the man is guilty and his fans should start to accept that.

First, Radar thanks for the intriguing articles on Taylor Hicks. Where there's smoke, there's fire. I followed the link to the Making Fun website and reviewed the photos and timeline evidence. There appear to be physical differences that can't be explained away by camera angle.

Next, I think that if we look at this logically, it doesn't indicate at all that Hicks is gay. In fact, if anything, it seems to suggest that he has a taste for less-than-straitlaced women. The gay theory would hold if the person on the beach was male and he was trying to pretend the person was female (Caroline Lyders).

Finally, I am a fan of Taylor's music. I've seen him perform in concert twice since he won the Idol competition. He is truly a gifted musician. A serious musician. His Idol persona was a character he created to win the competition and catch a break in the industry after slogging it out in bars and weddings for 10 years. He's not a pop star. He's a niche artist, like Ray LaMontagne or Marc Broussard. Now he has the exposure he needs to (hopefully) sustain a successful, albeit lowkey, career.

With fame comes heightened scrutiny. That's the way this works. There are a small group of his fans who froth at the mouth at any perceived slight directed at Hicks. They need to grow up a bit and realize that this comes with the territory. I'm sure Taylor does. Reader and Yeah Ok Sure: You are doing more harm than good. On vacation/not on vacation 2. atleast knew Taylor Hicks/did not know TH. What an insane story! What's weird is I could tell who was who when I looked at the photos side by side. If it was the same woman I guess I shouldn't be able to do that.

But the big thing for me is the height. The chick in the beach photos is tall and has legs to kill. Then when you see pics of the anchor she's obviously short and doesn't look like she's got this kick ass body. Like there's no way she'd look like the beach woman in a bikini, no way. Look at the differences in those necks! Caroline has a long slender neck the other woman has a shorter thicker neck. There are also differences in the noses and chin length. Looks like two different gals to me. I'm convinced.

I have read some of both the blogs in question here. You know which ones and I always sided with the folks at the Caroline Lyders Fan club site, because they seemed to truly believe in Taylor and did nothing to bash him. I don't know that much about the whole sham story, but it did seem ridiculous that someone would go to all the trouble to do a "scandal" like that. It just seemed so far-fetched. I mean come on those women are the same.

Well, I just looked at the pictures posted by someone above and now I feel really stupid. Those women are not the same at all. Wow, it seems we have all been made fools of, I feel ridiculous for believing this.

Everything mfoya has been saying from day one is obviously the truth. It's not something I ever wanted to accept but it's pretty clear that Caroline Lyders is a a different woman when you see her in profile.

The other side that wants to believe Taylor is innocent in all this and believeme I was there - we were looking for anything to tell us that this wasn't a sham. But this photo just took away all doubt I ever had.

Shame on Taylor for doing this.

Who is this woman on the beach now? Taylor must have paid her some $$ to keep her mouth shut. That comparison just slays me.

My fascination lies in watching the caliber of fans evidenced in some of these posters as well as on the Caroline Lyders Fan Club. The ladies of that group, and others like it will automatically tag anyone as 'against' Mr. Hicks or envious of he or his choice of companion if another individual speculates or even talks to anyone who may doubt anything the man might do. It is a bizarre little world.

mandm, you lumped me in with your comments into a situation you might know nothing about. If you care so little about this why target me, why go after MFOYA? Why not just ignore it. Rather, you are donning the "Save Taylor" garments, and making random assessments due to associations.

I don't believe everything I see and read on-line. I do agree with some who have questioned why Mr. Hicks has not come forward with clarification. Those will argue, "He owes his fans nothing!" I disagree - he owes fans everything, without them he would be nothing. That's why celebrities and musicians and artist will say "thank you" after a gig or positive response to their work, they understand that concept. They are not Gods to be worshipped, they are artists presenting their art. That simple. Now someone will come on here and decry what I've written, say I think he owed Me something, same old same old. That's missing the point entirely.

Example, you might be a great painter but if no one buys your art who sees it? You might be a great novelist, but if no one buys your books what then? You might be a fantastic gifted musician but if no one buys your Cds and you can't get into venues, there are you with your gifts; Alone.

Artists need fans for support. Conversely, certainly Mr. Hicks has brought a great deal of joy to many people. I for one was completely smitten by the way he charged through Idol. He was absolutely brilliant. I was in hook line and sinker behind the man. He inspired me and he has inspired others in many different ways. That said, I will say he is a man who puts on his pant legs one at a time like all of us.

There have been some mishandling of Hicks in many shapes and forms since he won Idol. Only Mr. Hicks can make it right. A press announcement might be in order. Or this can go on like it is and the fan base continue to fight, like a friend of mine said, "Like animals". A house divided will fall, true in government, true in an artist's fan base. Growth is what this man needs, not fighting and decline. MIndless irrational accusations do nothing positive for this man.

Fans like 'reader' if indeed they are a fan and not just a "plant" placed here to create strife and dissension, do the man no favor.
